The promo for the psych-funk trio’s new release May Ninth matches half-whispered vocals and a laid-back groove with soothing dreamy visuals directed and designed by Jenny Lucia Mascia and Jeremy Higgins

Rightly redolent of spring, the animated story weaves its way through images of soft rain, flowers coming into bud, trees bursting into blossom, incubating eggs and animal, vegetable and human entities all ripening into new life.

Pop fun fact: The Texan band’s blend of global musical genres includes Southeast Asian funk and Middle Eastern soul and their name (pronounced KRUNG-bin) is from a suitably floaty Thai word meaning airplane.
