Death is still undoubtedly one of the topics we find most difficult to discuss with our loved ones. Yet, with an ageing population, and the need for palliative care estimated to increase by up to 25% by 2048, it’s a subject we all need to get comfortable talking about.

On a mission to reframe our attitudes towards preparing for death is Marie Curie, the UK’s leading palliative care and end of life charity, with this heart-rending, authentic, and joyful campaign, created by CPB and directed by Shannon Murphy through SMUGGLER.

Amplifying the brand’s newly updated identity, the beautifully-crafted film sensitively follows real stories of terminally ill people from all walks of life, as they prepare for their last months, weeks and days, set to a moving soundtrack from The Paper Kites featuring Rosie Carney.

With the support of Marie Curie nurses, we see them set about making arrangements for their death, sharing some heartbreaking, and sometimes unexpectedly upbeat conversations with their loved ones, highlighting the charity’s mission to create a positive end of life experience for all, no matter their illness.
