What’s the best ad campaign you’ve seen recently?

The picture of Usain Bolt smiling at the competition while striding past them to win 100m gold at the Rio Olympics -- talk about personal brand building!

What website(s) do you use most regularly and why?

BBC, out of habit. Call me a boring old fart but world news, coffee and croissants have a way of waking my wife and I up in the morning. I also love, love, love the Wait But Why blog and The Magazine for Internet brain food.

What’s the most recent piece of tech that you’ve bought and why?

Osmo, because I love what they are doing in the world of toys and digital play, it's a magical innovation that is very much needed to give kids a healthy relationship with devices.

Facebook, Instagram or Twitter?

Awwwwwww! All of them, none of them.

What’s your favourite app on your phone and why?

Podcasts, specifically TED Radio Hour and This American Life. I can't believe (radio personality) Ira Glass is 57! He is the youngest soul in my life right now.

What’s your favourite TV show and why?

I don't watch TV much, but I got lost in Stranger Things for a weekend recently and didn't want to come back out of my childhood nostalgia.

What film do you think everyone should have seen?

Breakfast at Tiffany's, because “she’s a real faker” is as true a insight into youth ‘image creation’ as it was then. The only difference being now is that we can be real fakers to the world via Instagram.

Where were you when inspiration last struck?

Canyoning in Anncey, France.

What’s the most significant change you’ve witnessed in the industry since you started working in it?

The increasing gap between brand strategy and relevant content for real people.

If there was one thing you could change about the advertising industry, what would it be?

Borrowing from culture instead of contributing to it.

What or who has most influenced your career and why?

Amsterdam, it gave me a new perspective on work life balance, space to breathe, confidence to take the leap and launch WE ARE Pi, buy a house, find a wife, and a live a wonderful life.
