Ryan Reynolds: The ad man who adds more ads

Funny, self-deprecating, and to the point, Ad Space sells you on Ryan Reynolds, and the rest of the products. 

With more ads per ad than any other 40-second spot out there, Ad Space starts out as a straightforward Samsung commercial, showing off the new television from the company. Ryan Reynolds, who’s been in a bought of dryly comedic ads recently, laughs as a trailer for his movie comes up on the screen. When the director breaks the wall and comes into the shoot, she watches in resigned frustration as an ad for Aviation Gin (Reynolds’ spirit) finishes up the spot. 

Clever and silly, this ad by adam&eveDDB is much more invested in showcasing Reynolds than it is with actually showing off the features of any of the products. The candidness of how the ad explains the relationship between celebrity and product is fun and candid. There’s nothing coy here. It’s an ad for...Ryan Reynolds. Who happens to like things. It’s a very good thing that Reynolds is very likable.
