RSA Films director Lorena Medina has created a short film about her time in isolation in Barcelona.

The visual poem from the Cannes Lion-winning director and animator includes a wide variety of styles and techniques that combine visual storytelling, animation, and strong art direction.

“This is a very personal film about how I've been feeling for the past month. As a director, I am used to working with crews, to meet and validate ideas with a lot of people, to plan, to travel around the world, to big meetings, to a fast life. This life has come to a full stop."

"At the beginning I thought this was the perfect opportunity to sit and get some writing done. The quiet should be perfect for this, but I was just not able to focus. Days went by and I lived through the frustration of not being inspired or driven enough. I had to let go of my initial idea of how I would live my isolation and started focusing on my immediate surroundings and everyday routine.

In one of my daily walks with my dear dog Linda I came up with this series of reflections about the first month of isolation. This is an intimate view of my thoughts in which I open up my heart to the melancholy, fears, uncertainties, love and routines of a life within my life.

I couldn’t create, and therefore I did." Lorena Medina, RSA Films.
