Post-production company Lockt, known for its innovative approach to creative editing, is investing in its sound department, expanding from managing projects that come in for full editorial services to offering standalone sound design for commercials, films, and television.

Lockt’s sound team led the sound design on the feature film Trilogy: New Wave, directed by Andrew Mackenzie, as well as the Academy Award long-listed short, Note Of Defiance. Their next long-form projects are a narrative feature and an upcoming feature doc.

Lockt's sound team is in the mix from the word go: brainstorming with directors on pitches and pre-production, crafting sound design for offline edits, finding the perfect voice overs, capturing foley, and bringing it all together in the final mix. At Lockt, the priority isn’t just finishing the project, but doing so in the most collaborative and creative way possible.

Lead Sound Designer Eric Crepeau has taken Lockt’s sound philosophy to the next level, leading the audio department alongside Sound Designer Manuel Rivas and Senior Online Producer Nicole Johal in delivering hundreds of award-winning commercial campaigns, branded entertainment, and feature-length films.

Crepeau started his career by recording foley for feature films before moving on to become a picture editor and sound designer for movie trailers. At Lockt, he has created sound designs and mixes for brands such as Nike, Ford, Oakley, and Samsung. His sound mix for Oakley Contrail was nominated for the Audio Mix: 60 and Under category at the 2022 AICP Post Awards.

"It’s vitally important to me that we use sound to its fullest potential to help tell our stories; whether that be through the whisper of a ski through snow or the thunder of a roaring crowd. This is why I love working at Lockt: because the creatives here are as excited about the potential of sound as I am," explains Crepeau

"Lockt has always approached creative editing with a sound design-forward approach," explains Connor Scofield, Lockt’s President. "Sound is a key component in immersive storytelling and truly sets up and carries the experience. It isn't just part of the story; it's the heartbeat of it. I've always said that if you don't know sound design, then you don't know how to edit."
