Award-winning production company Kode announces the addition of esteemed director Sye Allen for commercial representation in the UK.

With a prolific career and a unique artistic approach rooted in comedy, Allen's collaboration with Kode looks to be a promising move for both the Director and Production Studio.

Hailing from the picturesque landscapes of Somerset, Allen’s upbringing on British comedy and horror novels has infused his creative spirit. His directorial debut, Beasts, earned prestigious recognition, securing Gold at the Queen Palm Festival and the International Human Rights Film Festival. Subsequently, The Empty Chair, earned him a Cannes YDA nomination and a Kinsale Shark, underscoring his innate talent and storytelling finesse.

Allen's directorial style is characterised by meticulous craftsmanship, swift and compelling narratives, and impeccable comedic performances. His portfolio boasts an impressive array of campaigns for beloved British and global brands, including Just Eat, Virgin Active, Vanish, Imperial Leather, and WestJet. His upcoming film, Light Hearted, a heartwarming tale of an elderly lady and her holographic husband, is poised for release, while campaigns for Vinted and Bold are in the final stages of post-production.

Allen’s addition to the Kode family marks an exciting chapter in the studio's journey, promising even more groundbreaking and boundary-pushing content.

Allen comments on signing with Kode: “It’s beyond impressive to see how quickly Kode have cemented themselves with a seat at the table, curating a wonderfully diverse roster of incredible talent, of which I’m now proud to be a part of. The creative energy across narrative, music videos and commercials is palpable, and their drive and belief in their directors is second to none.

I put so much love into my films and ultimately hope to make people smile, but also desire to push further; turning the humour dial a little darker or pulling silliness and sentimentality a little closer together. As well as having the perfect team, Kode has just the right collaborative and open culture to make this happen. Jack, Alex and Dan have an insatiable desire to create great work, and I’m thrilled to now be doing this alongside them.”

Jack Goodwin, executive producer at Kode, adds: “We’re incredibly excited to welcome Sye to Kode. Over the last few years it’s been evident watching from afar how much Sye cares about craft and humour, and from our recent conversations it’s now also clear to us that he wants to take things up another gear. People have been very kind to recognise KODE as a major player recently, but our hunger remains; so this feels like the perfect time for us to partner up with Sye, in a moment which is fueled by that hunger to become the very best.”
