Memac Ogilvy Dubai’s lush, beautifully crafted film, Kings & Queens, visualises six monarchs through time as they attempt to carve out a bit of ‘me time’ in their busy schedules and crowded palaces.

A young regency era queen tells her courtiers she needs quality time with her cat; an Egyptian king announces, “in my underwear, I will now chill.” A viking surrounded by a group of bawdy attendants decides baking's the thing; “I will bake a cake, a glorious, glorious cake.” Directed by Virgil Ferragut, produced by Bigfoot, it ends with a medieval monarch getting down to some private dancing and the tagline; ‘Everybody needs a place where they rule.’

Every year the IKEA Life At Home report surveys how customers feel about and use their homes. 2019’s survey showed that many are finding personal space at a premium in increasingly smaller more crowed abodes, yet 53% of respondents in the UAE said the size of the home doesn’t impact the privacy it can achieve. Seems you just need some nifty storage solutions and compact furnishings.
