No parent likes to admit that their child watches porn, but an informative PSA from Mistress reveals that it’s where most kids learn about the birds and the bees.

To remind parents that they need to have a chat with their children and teach them the basics about sex, creatives Celine Faledam and Rachel Guest have devised the GIVE THE TALK initiative to encourage parents to do just that.

Porn star Monique Alexander addresses mums and dads as she gets prepped for a shoot; removing her dressing gown, applying lipstick and picking which toys she wants to play with.

In the spot, Alexander seems upfront and frank with the camera: “Look, we don’t want to be your child’s role model,” she says. “We think you’re far more qualified to teach [your kids] the facts of life.”

Launched in partnership with non-profit AMAZE, which provides parents with tools to make sex education engaging and help establish parents as the go-to people on the topic.

The campaign responds to research that kids as young as nine are exposed to hardcore porn online and tries to reduce awkwardness around the subject for mum bloggers and new parents in particular.

“Our mission is that every parent see this initiative and feels empowered and equipped to talk to their child,” says Faledam. “Because we believe the next generation deserves to make more informed decisions about sex so that they can have healthy, respectful and happy sexual experiences.”
