Trump & Clinton Get Animated in Children's Book
How did this happen? On the day of the presidential inauguration two companies explain via a children's book.
Today is the day that Donald Trump is inaugurated as the 45th President of the United States of America. If you're someone who's wondering how this turn of events came to pass, well, just imagine trying to explain those events to a child.

That's exactly the premise for this new children's book co-created by digital production company the STUDIO and San Francisco agency barrettSF. Called The Pumpkin and the Pantsuit the book tells the cautionary tale of two big personalities who run against each other for the highest office in the land. Subtle it aint.

“On election night, [author and commentator] Van Jones posed the question; ‘how do we explain this election to our kids?’" says Todd Eisner, co-author and creative director at barrettSF. "That resonated with us. The goal of this book is to teach kids - and remind the rest of us - that losing is only losing if you give up.”

The book's illustrations, created by the STUDIO, include caricatures of the 2016 presidential candidates and some of their most ardent celebrity supporters. Donald Trump is portrayed as a boisterous and bullying pumpkin. Hillary Clinton is represented by an anthropomorphic powder-blue pantsuit which is inspired by Pantsuit Nation, a movement created to drum up support for Clinton during the election.
“We teach our children that respect for others is tantamount to being not only a good person but a smart one," says Mary Nittolo, the STUDIO’s founder. "[Author] Toni Morrison said it best; ‘This is precisely the time when artists go to work—not when everything is fine, but in times of dread. That’s our job!'’”
The book us available via Amazon with all proceeds being donated to the Children’s Defense Fund.
