Drawing from inspirations like Mohsen Makhmalbaf and Abbas Kiarostami, Naghmeh Pour’s work is animated by metaphor and symbolic imagery, and driven by a burning desire to evoke emotion and encourage reflection.

Pour was born in Iran and fled the country as a child, living in Turkey for some time before spending her youth in provincial Denmark.

She began her career as a Director’s Assistant at new—land Copenhagen, learning from some of the industry’s foremost directors. Her directorial debut, Iran-e Man, a visual poem woven from the richness of Iran made in collaboration with Iranian-Italian brand PAIRI DAEZA, was a runaway success, winning multiple awards at this year’s Cannes Lions, YDA, D&AD, True Awards and shots.

“It comes with such joy to add Naghmeh Pour to our roster. Naghmeh has shown such bravery with her first film (Iran-e Man) and I can’t wait to be a part of her journey going forward - she is truly blooming as a talented young female director.” said Sara Samsøe, EP & Head of Production, new—land Copenhagen.
