KFC Nails It With This Finger-Lickin' Polish
Fast food giant's flavoured varnish gives fans the taste of fried chicken at their fingertips.
"
Nail-biting is a tough habit to kick, and with its latest stunt, KFC has made it a whole lot harder. Provided, of course, you're a fried chicken aficionado.
Created by Ogilvy & Mather Hong Kong, the new campaign interprets the famous 'Finger Lickin' Good' tagline in the most literal way, with the launch of two edible nail polishes that taste of... KFC. Yes, you read that correctly.
Available in 'Original' (an everyday neutral) and 'Hot & Spicy' (a punchy red), the varnishes feature all-natural ingredients and were created with the help of food technologists at McCormick, who make KFC's closely-guarded secret blend of 11 herbs and spices. For extra top-shelf allure, they come packaged in a swanky bottle and box, so no-one need ever know your dirty little secret.
Currently, only a handful of the products have been launched, but fear not, fast-food fans - there are plans afoot for a public roll-out, with the release of a music video (below) asking Hong Kongers to choose which of the two flavours should go into mass production.
Getting your mitts on a bottle is the hard part: using it is a cinch. Simply apply and let the polish dry like a regular manicure, and then, whenever you're craving a taste of the Colonel's secret recipe, take a lick - or if you're really hungry, a nibble. Just make sure you've washed your hands first.
