Errol Morris parts company with @radical.media; 180 Amsterdam names creative chiefs; Barber returns to spots directing; and more...
@radical.media has announced that it has parted company with director Errol Morris, whom it has represented for commercial projects for the past six years.
"We accomplished everything we could for Errol in his tenure with the company," said @radical.media CEO Jon Kamen on the decision. "Having won practically every major advertising award with him, and having supported him in his recent Oscar win [for Fog of War], we certainly had a rewarding run. However, we reached a point in which Errol was unhappy and wanted something more. We wish him the best of luck in finding continued happiness elsewhere in his career." Morris's next move has yet to be announced.
Andy Fackrell and Richard Bullock, creative directors at 180 Amsterdam, have been promoted to the positions of joint executive creative directors at the company. The move follows the departure of former ECD Peter McHugh, who left 180 in October to return to Minneapolis as chief creative officer of Carmichael Lynch. Fackrell and Bullock have both been at the agency since 2002.
Director Bryan Barber has returned to spots directing after wrapping his feature debut, My Life In Idlewild, which features the band Outkast. Barber is repped by Boondoggle in Santa Monica for commericals projects, and FM Rocks for promos.
Backyard Productions has signed John Immesoete for commercials directing. Immesoete was formerly DDB/Chicago group creative director, where he co-directed a number of ads for Budweiser with agency executive producer Greg Popp.
The Glue Society in Australia has now expanded its membership to seven. The team now consists of Jonathan Kneebone, Gary Freedman, Chris Riggert (formerly with Fallon), Paul Bruce (formerly with Mother/Mojo), Peter Baker, and a new creative team Matt Devine & Luke Crether, previously with Leo Burnett in Sydney. The Glue Society is also repped by @radical.media for writing and directing projects.
Pogo Pictures in Atlanta has signed Zach Freyer for commercials representation on the US east coast. Freyer recently won the 2004 Bronze Student Clio award for his spec spot Superbowl for Budweiser.
Designer Roisin has joined One in London. Formerly with Blue, Roisin has recently completed on-air promos for the BBC, Channel 4 and the Discovery Channel, as well as commercials for JWT, CHI and Leo Burnett.
Crush Editorial in Santa Monica has hired Mike Hackett as staff editor. Hackett joins the company from Avenue Edit.
Australian music and sound design house, Song Zu, has opened a studio in New York working out of the Outpost Digital facility. The studio is headed up by David Wilson, who previously set up Song Zu's Singapore studio.
