(18.10.00) Over 17,300 ads from over 78 countries worldwide have been entered for the London International Advertising Awards, which take place in the UK capital on 13 November.
The awards are among the world's fastest advertising awards competitions, and this year a new record of entries has been set to mark the competition's 15th anniversary.
This year's ceremony is to be co-hosted by Bob Garfield, the ad critic of US trade title Advertising Age, and Donna Bernhard, a presenter on UK breakfast TV show GMTV.
Trevor Beattie, creative director of TBWA London, will select the Grand Prizes in television/cinema, radio and print. New media specialist, David Streek of Deepend Design, will choose the interactive media prize-winners and John Blackburn of Blackburn1s, London, will select for package design.
The LIAA rewards international creative excellence rather than marketing effectiveness and has established a reputation for being one of the most demanding competitions in the industry. It was founded in 1985 to honour the world1s most creative television/cinema commercials, print advertisements, packaging design and radio commercials, and it now looks at interactive media too.
The LIAA has no gold, silver and bronze medals, only winners and finalists. All winners receive a solid bronze winged statue and there is only one winner per category.
