1stAveMachine sign visual artist Em Cole

Production company 1stAveMachine has signed the exciting visual artist Em Cole to its UK roster. 

Experimental, textural and boldly feministic, Cole’s mixed media style is distinct and engaging. Her work includes the satirical I’m Your Venus, a live action and animated short film/ AR installation about female objectification and Instagram’s #InstaGiftGuide campaign, bringing to life popular hashtags with quirky miniature sets shot entirely in vertical format.

Of her own work Cole says:

Being British, I find the whole ‘stiff upper lip mentality absurdly tickling. Anything that is not quite as it appears is a big part of my aesthetic, especially capturing the surface vs. reality through dramatic and comedic reveals.

1stAveMachine UK MD, Kerry Smart, hails Em’s work as, ‘both beautiful and hypnotic’, and has expressed the production company’s excitement about how they can, 'continue to push boundaries together.’ This is something we for one cant wait to see either!
