Students and young directors from all over the world are being invited to submit their creative submissions to this year's Porsche International Student Advertising Film Award.

The 2016 event will be held away from its home of Ludwigsburg’s Filmakademie Baden Wűrttemburg for the first time in 13 years with the winners due to be announced at Picturehouse Central on Wednesday 17 November.

The new directing award will be held at London's Picturehouse Central in 2016.

Together with sponsor, Porsche AG, the Filmakademie will work with the National Film and Television School (NFTS) in the UK to co-ordinate the competition that seeks to uncover the most promising new filmmaking talent in the world.

From this year on the ceremony will alternate between London (2016) and Ludwigsburg (2017), adding greater emphasis on its international model.

The competition is open to new directors who have been working in the industry for less than three years and one or more films can be entered across the following two categories.

Last year's jury president, Patrick Cahill, and Porsche's Rober Ader in 2015.

Category 1

In the Classical Category/Other Formats, films with no reference to an automobile brand should be submitted: classic advertisement spots for television, cinema and the internet up to 90 seconds in length as well as all other advertising formats (campaigns, branded entertainment, mobile productions, trailers, etc.) up to three minutes max in length.

Category 2

In the Automobile Category, creativity regarding the idea, implementation, as well as the chosen car brand are unlimited. Films up to 90 seconds in length may be submitted (classical format for television, cinema and the internet) or films up to three minutes in length (as other formats, for example, branded short, internet version, integrated campaigns, etc.)

As in previous years, prize money in both categories will be awarded true to the Porsche 911 model: €1.911 for third prize, €2.911 for second prize and €3.911 for first prize.

All films are welcome regardless of production values and budget – what’s most important is the creative idea and interpretation of the brand.

The deadline for both categories is Monday, the 18th of July 2016. More information on submissions, prize money and entry forms can be found online.
