Sainsbury's: The Big Night

Sainsbury's has today launched it's Christmas 2018 offering and, after John Lewis's Bohemian Rhapsody reworking back in September, we're back in school play territory. Instead of the Queen opus we now have the New Radicals' 90s hit, You Only Get What You Give being performed out as a children's Christmas play goes from slightly underwhelming to brilliantly spectacular as a giant Christmas tree erupts from the stage and is completed by kids dressed as baubles, fairy lights and a host of other elements, completed by the ad's star - dressed as a star - a a gravy boat full of glitter. What's not to like?

The spot was created by Wieden+Kennedy London and directed by Partizan's Michael Gracey, the man behind musical hit film, The Greatest Showman.
