shots Awards EMEA and Out of the Box 2023 in photos
Wednesday saw the top dogs in advertising descend on The Londoner in Leicester Square for shots' annual award show and inaugural Out of the Box conference. Here is your photographic proof.
Wednesday, 22nd December, saw shots not only present its annual EMEA Awards, but also launch its Out of the Box event at The Londoner Hotel in London's Leicester Square.
Out of the Box saw the day filled with sessions designed to spark creativity and ignite debate: from panels offering a behind-the-scenes look at the British public’s most anticipated commercial to hearing about the changing – and challenging - nature of commercial production from the heads of production of some of the UK’s most respected agencies; from speakers delving into the ‘normality crisis’ and the homogenisation of creativity to the silly-yet-scary growth of AI; the day climaxing with celebrated director Edgar Wright discussing how music videos and commercials have informed his feature film work with Leo Burnett's Chaka Sobhani.
Above [L-R]: Franki Goodwin and Jess Ringshall from Saatchi & Saatchi join the John Lewis Partnership's Emma Wood and Wake The Town's Dominic Bastyra for a discussion of this year's Christmas spot; Private Island's Chris Boyle takes us in the world of AI; TBWA's Melody Sylvester, Uncommon's Charlie Gatsky Sinclair, Creature's Kristie Girvan and Maxine Hose of Grey lift the veil in our Heads of Production roundtable; Amy Kean embraces weirdness and the magic of bad ideas; Moxie Pictures director Edgar Wright joining Leo Burnett's Global CCO Chaka Sobhani talk through a career of creative marvels.
The evening saw the creative community don their glad rags to find out who would pick up a coveted shots Awards trophy (as covered here).
Introduced by shots' Co-Editors, Jamie Madge and Danny Edwards, and hosted by comedian, band-leader and Taskmaster mastermind Alex Horne and the Horne Section, the evening celebrated the very best work released across 2022-23 from the EMEA reagion.
Among the winners were BETC, Art Practice, 4Creative, Time Based Arts, Trim Editing, 750mph, and a whole host of amazing work, people and companies.
