Revolver Films adds Samantha MacAdam

Production company Revolver Films announce the signing of Director Samantha MacAdam to the Revolver family.
An award winning Guyanese-Canadian narrative filmmaker, who specialises in comedy with a side of horror, MacAdam was recently named to Playback’s “10 to Watch 2021” list. With her background in film editing, Samantha brings an invaluable skillset with to her projects as a director.
Recently, her work includes co-writing and directing a series of commercials for the 2022 Juno awards with Marvel’s Simu Liu, who also stars in the spots and who is also hosting the live event on the CBC. A Rom-Com feature, and directing episodes for CBC GEM series True Dating Stories and Virgins!
Over the past few years, MacAdam has accumulated numerous accolades. Her comedic feature screenplay, Prom Night, was selected for the Whistler Film Festival, the Women in the Director’s Chair: Story & Leadership program 2021, and the Toronto International Film Festival’s Big Pitch Event 2020. Her comedic short/proof-of-concept, Prom Night, premiered at Just for Laughs where it beat out over 650 films and became a top-five finalist in Kevin Hart’s LOL Showcase. She also won the story competition for her concept pitch on The Nut Job 3, an animated film starring Will Arnett and Maya Rudolph.
As a recipient of a Canada Council for the Arts grant, she is currently developing two feature projects, her comedy, Prom Night, which she is slated to pitch to Netflix at BANFF 2022, and a horror based on true crimes in Guyana, The Horrible History of Harriet Jones.
