Denton’s Designs Draw Attention to Illiteracy for Pearson
Pearson’s Project Literacy initiative is rolled out with striking and colourful images to highlight how restrictive reality can be when you can't read.
Mark Denton has created a series of striking images to remind people how debilitating illiteracy can be.
Launched together with FCB Inferno to promote global education company Pearson’s new initiative, Project Literacy, the print campaign strives to raise awareness of the constraints experienced by adults who can’t read.
The images are fun and textured yet reveal how restrictive reality can be by not learning to read.
Ordering at restaurants, understanding prescriptions and paying bills all become impossible tasks if you can’t make sense of words.
The challenges presented in each image reveal genuine situations experienced by newly-literate adults, with whom Project Literacy have helped.
Rolled out on social, the campaign will not only raise awareness of this problem but also provide a solution, reminding non-readers that they can be easily connected to the world of words with help on hand.
