Homespun Yarns returns for 2017
Competition for emerging talent reveals brief and call for entries.
This year’s brief for entries is ‘Fragments’. Homespun, in partnership with stock footage company Pond5, will be providing entrants with eight carefully selected film clips as starting points that are meant to be interpreted freely.
Speaking about the competition senior editor and partner at Stitch, Tim Hardy comments, “Our goal at Homespun has always been to nurture and grow talent, not only within our own company but wherever it may hail from. We’re really excited to see what ideas ‘fragments’ will inspire this year.”
Entry is open at the competition's website, and entrants have until 11:59pm on 28th April 2017 to submit their ideas.
Three winning ideas will be shortlisted and Homespun will provide £1,500 funding to make each film a reality, as well as providing complimentary editing and support where needed.
The shortlist will be announced in June following in-house judging from the entire Homespun team. The awards night will take place in October when the final three films will be screened and judged by the audience and Homespun’s panel. The winning film will also receive a £500 cash prize.
