Blair-Mangat gets a taste for Caviar
Director signs for commercial and promo representation.
Caviar has announced the signing of British filmmaker Rohan Blair-Mangat [above right] for commercial and music video representation in the UK (including Amsterdam), US, France & Spain.
Since graduating from Central Saint Martins, with a degree in Fine Art, Blair-Mangat's varied projects have led him to work with talents such as JAY-Z, Lionel Messi, Daisy Ridley, Alexander Wang and Lewis Hamilton.
Blair-Mangat has made music videos for artists such as Bryson Tiller, DVSN, PAULi and Sub Focus, along with commercial projects for clients including Adidas, Apple Music, Beats By Dre, BMW, Dazed, McDonalds, Nike and Vice. Last year he directed a short film to accompany the track, Bam, from JAY-Z’s album 4:44, which was nominated at both Camerimage and the 2017 UKMVAs.
“We are very excited to have Rohan join the Caviar family," said Jasper Thomlinson, managing partner at Caviar. "There’s a raw authenticity to his work that manages to punch through in a cinematic and rhythmic way. And this vision spans the gamut from his music videos, ad campaigns, to the film and TV projects he’s developing. It makes Rohan the perfect addition to the Caviar roster and makes us eager to get started making great work together.”
Blair-Mangat's short film that was created in collaboration with Wretch 32, When I See You, I See Me, was screened at the Tate Britain and selected by Lynne Ramsay for the series Electric Shorts. Also, his cinematic spot for Cocaine Unwrapped, Run For Your Life, earnt him both a nomination for Best New Director at the prestigious BTAA Craft Awards, and a shortlist entry for the CFP-E/shots Young Director Award. His interactive work for Geox won four Cannes Lions, a One Show Gold Pencil and FWA Site of the Day.
“I am really exciting to be joining Caviar," said Blair-Mangat. "I’ve been following their work for a while and it’s great to be reunited with Georgie MacEchern, who was my first ever commercial rep. I’m looking forward to the projects that come in 2018 and beyond.”
