Win a Music Video Shoot for Luke Sital Singh

The shots Blueprint competition in collaboration with Warner Music Group is open for entries.

Recently we announced that a special competition was on its way and we’re pleased to say that today, we are opening Blueprint for entries.

Blueprint is an opportunity for directors to pitch on a music video for Warner Music artist Luke Sital Singh, a singer songwriter who cites Neil Young and Bruce Springsteen as major influences and who has been described as “breathing life into a tired form” by The Guardian newspaper. Over the last year he has played a string of well received, high profile shows everywhere from SXSW to Facebook HQ, as well as supporting Martha Wainwright, Kodaline and Villagers on tour, and selling out his own tour. His songs have been playlisted on BBC Radio 1 and have been heard in episodes of hit TV shows such as Grey’s Anatomy and The Vampire Diaries. You can watch his most recent video here.

The competition is open to all directors from around the world and a standard budget will be provided by Warner Music Group. The format is as follows:

You have until 1pm, UK time on 2 December to register your interest in the competition by sending an email to with your name, phone number and a link to your reel/website/Vimeo page etc. (this is not for judging purposes or to demonstrate your experience, but only to prove you are a director and not just an eager fan).

On the afternoon of 2 December all registered directors will receive a link to download the forthcoming single by Luke. You will be required to agree to not share the track and each MP3 will be watermarked uniquely so that it can be traced back to you if it appears on the internet or elsewhere. If this happens, legal action may be taken against you so please guard the MP3 closely. At this point you will also be notified of the video’s budget.

You will then have until 08.00 on 16 December to submit your treatment for the video. It can include scripts, storyboards, mood boards and can be backed up by links to your existing reel. It should also include at least a rough breakdown of how you will spend the budget. There is a possibility for Luke to appear in the video.

On 18 December the entries will be judged by shots, Warner Music and Luke Sital Singh himself. The winner will be notified by 19 December and arrangements made for them to receive the budget. They will then be expected to shoot, edit and deliver the video by 17 January 2014.
