Matthieu Jorrot is a director living in Aix-en-Provence, France.
Native French, born in Paris, Matthieu was raised in Stuttgart, Germany.
After studying in Paris, he started making his living as a photographer, assistant director, artistic coordinator on various commercials and music videos for different production companies in Paris.
In 2002 he made it to Prague, working as set photographer and AD, but mainly focusing on directing personal projects. Having completed his first short film, “Panorama”, he decided it was time to push it forward with commercial and music video directing and was promptly signed by Filmservice Productions in Prague.
In 2008, Matthieu decided to move back to France, where he first started working with Hamster Publicité on the french market.
In 2009, Matthieu directed his first animation movie, animated by David Tousek. The shortfilm travelled across the world, selected in various festivals - Siggraph Festival Los Angeles, Byron Bay Festival (Australia), Busan Short Film Festival (Korea), Anifest (Czech Republic)...
In 2010, parallel to advertising, and the travels belonging to it, Matthieu shot the music video of french celebrity Claire Keim, held a workshop in a contemporary art gallery in Marseille (La GAD), and also participates at the Pecha Kucha night.
But mainly, Matthieu is focusing on developing his feature projects - it takes time, but he is moving determinately forward.
He is participating on a collective feature project “Lumières sur la Méditerranée” - co-directed by 5 directors from the Mediterranean coast (each directing a segment) - Production: Constellation Factory.
Recently, Matthieu won an award for best branded web serie script, in the Crans Montana Cristal Festival.
Recently, he was shooting campaigns for Adidas and T-Mobile with Radical Media London, and a campaign for Contrex in Paris.
Matthieu, speaking French, English, German, Italian and partially Czech, loves traveling and meeting new people and cultures while doing what he loves doing... shooting !
