Last Thursday evening saw the advertising community take over one of London’s most famed venues – the Natural History Museum – for a night of (pre)historic partying to celebrate the APA’S collection of the best commercials work from the past year.

Welcomed through the archaic doors by a champagne/cocktail reception, the ad elite gathered among ancient displays as they sipped the finest of bubbly refills and were treated to dinner and musical entertainment in the museum’s main room. Chief executive of the APA, Steve Davies, introduced this year’s 11th annual Collection as the main event of the proceedings, featuring work from some of the UK’s top production companies and advertising agencies.

But if you missed out on the trip down to South Kensington, worry not, as the next issue of shots, issue 138, out on 20 September, will feature an extra DVD showcasing the entire APA Collection with the full list of credits, as well as a commemorative feature profiling some of the top editors who feature in this year’s Collection with a special introduction from Davies.

If you did manage to attend, but are just having trouble remembering the boozy shenanigans, photos from the event are available to view on the APA’s Facebook page now.
