Eurobest Winners 2012
Winners of the 25th annual Awards were announced in Lisbon on Friday night, with 13 Grands Prix prizes handed out.
Winners of the 25th annual Eurobest Festival were announced on Friday night (30 November), at the much-anticipated Awards Ceremony which took place in one of Lisbon’s most historic venues, the Pátio da Galé.
The top Film prize on the night was awarded to BBH London (Sir John Hegarty, pictured) for Three Little Pigs for The Guardian. The Grand Prix prize in Film Craft was handed to BETC Paris for Canal+ The Bear for the French TV channel.
There were 13 Grands Prix handed out, one of which came in the Festival’s newest category, Branded Content & Entertainment. The inaugural prize was awarded to Duval Guillaume Modem Antwerp for its Push to Add Drama with TNT Broadcasting. The work also won the Grand Prix prizes in the Promo & Activation and Outdoor categories.
A total of 389 Eurobest awards were selected with a breakdown of 64 Gold, 116 Silver and 196 Bronze prizes.
Advertising Agency of the Year was awarded to Jung von Matt Hamburg. adam&eve DDB London took second and BBH London came in third place. Independent Agency of the Year went to Serviceplan Munich with runners up Jung von Matt Hamburg in second place and Happiness Brussels in third.
No Grands Prix were awarded in the Integrated, Mobile and Radio categories. The Grand Prix in PR went to McCann Erickson Bucharest for its Romanians are Smart ROM campaign.
Top prize in Interactive was won by Happiness Brussels for its IQ Street View campaign for Toyota. The Grand Prix in Direct was handed to Jung von Matt Hamburg for its The Invisible Drive for Mercedes-Benz and the Media prize went to Carat London for ASOS Urban Tour for the retailer.
A Grand Prix in the Outdoor Campaign category was given to CHI London for its Rolling Stones, Dragons Den and Sport work for The Sunday Times.
Volkswagen was honoured as Advertiser of the Year in recognition of the brand consistently being at the forefront of creative leadership. The brand has won over 150 times at Eurobest including a record-breaking 11 Grands Prix. Giovanni Perosino, head of marketing communication was on stage to collect the accolade.
The Young Creatives Competition, which runs throughout the Festival, saw the team from Norway, Torny Hesle and Thale Hoy-Petersen from McCann Oslo, take gold. The team from Hungary was awarded silver, Denmark bronze and the jury gave a special mention to the team from Germany.
Over the three days Eurobest celebrated its 25th year with an unbeatable line-up of global speakers, a world-class collection of jury members and inspirational exhibitions showcasing the best of creativity in Europe. There were also a host of dedicated networking events with shots sponsoring the official opening drinks reception and, of course, the celebratory After Party following the Awards Ceremony.
