Ahead of the screening, movie producer and director of the NFTS Nik Powell entertained the audience with his A to Z of developing creative talent and storytelling. In keeping with the spirit of the evening
Chimney Pot and
Kstockholm hosted the after party, which saw the cream of London's production crop mix and mingle with Stockholm's movers and shakers.
"The purpose of the event was to connect with Sweden's advertising community and let them see the best work of the year from the UK, so that they are encouraged to work with APA members," says APA chairman Steve Davis. "The Collection is the starting point for conversations which allow our members to gain insights into how the country's - in this case Sweden's - advertising industry works and to build relationships which will lead to working together. There is a natural affinity between Sweden and the UK in advertising, from the directors they have produced to their sophisticated understanding of UK culture, so they understand all the commercials in the Collection."
Having successfully hosted the event in Stockholm for several years now, the APA now plans on extending its ties with Swedish production companies to strengthen relations between the two communities. "We are talking with Björn Rietz, CEO of The Swedish Association of Communication Agencies, about other events in London and Stockholm to enable us to learn, for example, the basis of Sweden's great success in digital advertising," explains Davis. "Events like these are all part of our work to help our members connect with new markets, with screenings of the APA Collection across over 40 cities in China, Japan and Russia underway."
