Washington Lottery's Birds, via Publicis in the West and Sticks+Stones director Jerry Brown, picked up Best of Show at the 2009 ADDY Awards. With over 60,000 entries annually, the ADDY Awards are the world's largest advertising competition. To see all of the ADDY winners, visit their site.

Rushes recreated the iconic film moment of the J. Arthur Rank title sequence to promote this year's Soho Shorts Festival. The promo along with along production information can be viewed on the Rushes Soho Shorts website.

Samsung Mobile, in association with Future Shorts, has announced that Maybe One Day, by Rankin & Chris is the winner of its recent HD short film competition. Samsung Mobile teamed up with the short film experts to commission four HD short films from top directors. Each director was asked to capture the experience of life in HD. Unveiled at Mobile World Congress, the Samsung i8910 HD features the largest ever AMOLED screen on a mobile phone.

BBC Electric Proms kicks off a short film competition, asking contestants to submit creative ideas for short films inspired by two new tracks from Metronomy and Florence and the Machine. Films can be promos, short dramas or documentaries. The winners will work with Colonel Blimp and receive a £5,000 budget to make their films. The films will then be premiered at the BBC Electric Proms this October.

Piyush Pandey, executive chairman and national creative director of Ogilvy & Mather India and South Asia will head the Craft jury at this year's Spikes Asia Festival. The Economic Times has named Pandey as the most influential man in Indian advertising six years in a row. In 2004 Pandey was the first Asian to be president of a Cannes Lions jury.

Framepool, the footage collection run by filmmakers, will present its own trophy at the Festival International des Médias Audiovisuels Corporate du Creusot. The Prix Spécial Framepool will acclaim the quality of shots within corporate films. The ceremony will take place on June 19th at Creusot in Burgundy at the Alto congress centre.

The D&AD Awards Ceremony will be broadcasted live on June 11 from 10:45 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. GMT for all of those who can't make the event. All nominated work can be seen on the website. Registered users can bookmark work to create a library of their favourites from this year's awards.

FilmTecknarna storytelling and design house based in Stockholm, will expand to the United States. Under the direction of executive producer Bill Hewes, the initial FilmTecknarna offices will house a full studio in New York City within the next year. The company will be repped Stateside by Judy Wolff (East Coast), Hilly Reps (Midwest), Reber Covington (West Coast) and Hesty Reps (Canada).

The Fireflies: The Big Send Off will take place from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday June 12 at the Golden Square in Soho. The Fireflies will ride from Hammersmith Hospital and arrive at the event at 6 p.m. The event includes Corona Extra Beer and live music, and is in aid of Leukaemia charity Leuka.
