The ten videos are for the new Go Skittle Yourself website. Themed around the different Skittles colours, the films are meant to encourage site visitors to create and upload their own colour-inspired movies.
Orange sees a group of girls knit a young man into a giant, woolly, mansuit; in one of the
red films a boy and a girl create a colourful trail; one of the purple spots features some violet kids on a roundabout, while the other features a giant paint bomb.

The creative team behind the spots is pretty large - Erik Tell, Marie Voss, Martin McAllister, Theo Bayani, Mikael Soderblom and Martin Adolfsson, overseen by creative director Frazer Jellyman. The various spots in the series had different creative teams behind them, lending a distinct feel to each film. And helming them all was Thomas Thomas director Kim Albright.
For Albright, the job was an exciting challenge - her highest profile commercials work to date. And the tight schedule meant that she hit the ground running - she had one day of shooting every week for three weeks to complete all ten spots.
And some of the lo-fi virals involved a large amount of preparation. The knitting film, for example, involved finding an expert and getting her to knit a giant man-shaped suit. Craftily, this was unravelled on the day of shooting, and the day's footage was reversed to create the illusion of knitting.

"I felt really bad for the guy that had to get into the suit. There he was in the outfit: wrapped head to toe in wool and he couldn't even see where he was going. He had to stand there for 4 hours," she explains. "A few hours in, I had to adjust something by his feet, I touched his foot and it was drenched with sweat. Like he had dipped his feet in a bucket of water. He was a great sport about it."
Now with the Skittles job under her belt, Albright is getting ready for her next big challenge. She recently won the BBH Cutlets scheme and is due to shoot three Lynx spots for them this weekend. How is Albright feeling about the task ahead? "Well, casting has been pretty tough - I've seen about ten athletic male hotties for a casting the other day, basically stripping down to some pretty tight shorts and tops." It's a hard job, but someone's got to do it.
