Created in the lead-up to the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, Sport In Art is an exhibition drawing artists together from around the world under the theme of sport.

"It's mostly Chinese artists and a few other Western artists, and I think we're the only ones from the UK," explained Graham Daniels, creative director and along with fellow VJ Tolly one half of the performing branch of Addictive. "We're all creating work with sport as a central theme and it's touring around seven cities in China over the coming months. The last stop is Beijing which will coincide with the Olympics."

Addictive's piece, Sportive, is a three-minute audio-visual medley of sampled clips from the company's private archive.

"Tolly and I created the piece. We were asked by a French producer Joanna Chevalier who we've worked with before and who really likes our work and who was one of the curators of the project. The basic beat for our piece is built from two guys running and the rest of the structure is built from people playing various sports… it's difficult to describe."

Using video from the adidas archives including footage of various sports personalities helping the company design foot and swimwear, the pair aimed to create a piece encapsulating not only the rhythm in sport, but the emotion too.

With their Sport In Art contribution wrapped up and on its merry way across China, Addictive TV are already looking towards 2008 with upcoming dates in Brazil, a new feature film remix for Paramount Studios and their involvement in Liverpool's Capital of Culture celebrations.

"We're working with Liverpool audio-visual artists Kinetic Fallacy to do a show later on in 2008 projecting on the side of a building by the docks and doing a whole outdoor show. They're multi-instrumentalists and we're going to film them playing in some iconic locations around the city and build a piece from that, so similarly to Sportive, what you'll see is what you hear."
