Framepool, LittleBlackBook online and Fireflies are starting up a new international award for directors and their teams. The 2010 Framepool/ LBBOnline/ Fireflies challenge will ask contestants to craft a short movie on the topic of courage. The submitted work will be judged by a jury of advertising industry heavyweights including Jake Scott (RSA), Steffen Gentis (BBDO), Olivier Altmann (Publicis), Ringan Ledwidge (Rattling Stick) and more. The call for entries starts now and the deadline is May 20. The winners will be honoured during the Cannes Lions festival on June 23. For more info check out the

Evolutions has launched a new boutique digital studio called Earth. The new studio will service commercials, design, promos and VFX industries. Earth has already completed a number of commercials for clients including Nokia and McDonald's and is based in London.
Editorial and creative boutique jumP has opened an office in Los Angeles. Originally based in New York City, the physical expansion gives jumP a bi-coastal presence it believes is necessary as a top edit house.
