This week we have mostly been listening to mix tapes made by strangers and posted online at Muxtape.com and you should too. We can already hear the copyright overlords bleating their disapproval from above.

And on the subject of music, cut your productivity (what productivity) even further by checking out the new Pitchfork TV website. If you don't know Pitchfork then hang your head in shame. If you do, you might like the piss take here.

People more intelligent than you take songs and find ways of turning them into cryptic graphs thus producing a hybrid of grade school math and Catchphrase, generating simultaneous amusement and bemusement. Now is that a freakin' headline or what?

Hungryman's Taika Waititi (who is possibly, though probably not, related to Kiri Takanwa) has shot this rap spot for Pot Noodle through Mother.

Et pour le fin, have a look at this new work from Miki Magasiva of Curious who just featured on our latest reel as a New Director to watch.

OK, we promise this'll be the last time we ever mention Encyclopedia Pictura's Bjork promo. But it's out online. Big file. High quality. Check it. Other cool new stuff we got this week includes some weird fluffy monsters for Ford Argentina, flying penguins from Gorgeous, Kinga Burza's 80s-fest for Ladyhawke and some great new animation from Sehsucht. There's more. But looking is more fun than reading.
(Oh, and for the record it appears we were wrong about Portishead's Machine Gun. It's great. As is the whole album which has leaked to the net.)

The highlight of our week has to be this series of four spots for Ford Ka helmed by Eduardo Parapugna of Gizmo, Buenos Aires. Yes, the highlight of our week was a series of semi-nonsensical foreign language commercials for a major car producer. Take pity.

At last a high quality 2D version of the Encyclopedia Pictura Wanderlust promo has hit the net. It might take a while to download but it's well worth the wait. Now that's over we've got nothing to hype or look forward to. If anyone's got a project they'd like us to follow with all the irrational fervour of a recent religious convert, please feel free to email it our way.

The April Fool's day crown this year goes to Gorgeous' Vince Squibb for his iPlayer Penguins viral that got 250k hits in a day. That's more hits than Tina Turner took from Ike. Too far? Perhaps?

Rogier and Emiel of Manifesto Film have shot a totally creepy and rather weird but thoroughly enjoyable little promo for Quit Your Job by Nobody Beats The Drum.

Check out Rozan And Schmeltz' promo for The Cavalera Conspiracy's first date makeout track Sanctuary. And try and figure out, as we did, why the drummer of a thrash band would be wearing a Justice t-shirt.

Nexus's Wolf Wan-Bau has shot a surreal in-camera delight for Nomis footwear that's a cross between Busby Berkley and Michel Gondry. Look, if anyone can suggest another mainstream quasi-surreal director can they please let us know cos we've really run the Gondry comparison into the ground.

Sehsucht's Ole Peters and Hannes Geiger have created a stunning animated paper landscape for Daimler through Jung von Matt. Bonus points go to anyone who knew Sehsucht translates roughly as "an addiction to seeing".

Cut and Paste
Hells yeah. Kinga Burza's on form in her latest promo through Partizan, an 80s-tastic treat for Ladyhawke's new track, Back of the Van.

Trunk Films recently made this animation for BBC Newsround to raise awareness of knife crime amongst young kids.

Gang Films' Kasper Wedendahl has shot two accident themed spots to convince people to go work in hospitals. At least we think that's the aim. Just look at the funny man break his leg. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Check out this bizarro spot by Sam Peacocke of Robber's Dog for a protein shake.

The latest MTN spot directed by Greg Gray for MetropolitanRepublic has just launched. Check out juggler here and wish you'd had the conviction of your beliefs and run away to join the circus that time the opportunity arose.

And to leave you on a bad-ass note, Marc Sidelsky of Bouffant has spot a new spot for Harley Cologne through Ogilvy Johannesburg.

We're so disappointed by the new Portishead track Machine Gun we're lost for words. New work this week from Fredrik Bond, Psyop and Tom Kuntz. Plus websites x2 and more. Why Portishead? Why?
